🎻 Saloon Yoon: A New Kind of Listening Room for Overthinkers and Music Lovers

There is a subtle, persistent asymmetry in how we move through social life. Extroverts are rarely asked to quiet their spirit, yet introverts are routinely asked to "speak up” to perform a social vitality on cue. In many ways, we have built our cultural cathedrals around the outgoing, leaving those who process the world more quietly to do the heavy lifting of adaptation. As a well-practiced introvert who socially passes as an extrovert, I started the Saloon Yoon series back in 2022 with a simple idea: what if the music stayed demanding, but the environment softened?

🌿 Quiet Scores: By Introverts, For Introverts

We launched Quiet Scores in Spring 2026, which is our sub-series for the quietly curious. Here, our environment is deliberately calm. Soft lighting (no glaring white fluorescent office lights that remind us of a tax audit), comfortable seating, no LinkedIn intros (I am pleased to announce that we’ve all quite literally survived enough icebreakers for one lifetime), and no manufactured sociability.

🧘🏻‍♀️ We All Need A Third Space

I find that classical music doesn’t need the strict social architecture that has historically policed it. The premise of Saloon Yoon is simple: a third space where your nervous system can settle and your mind can meet the music on its own terms. A space where you can just be. If you’re tired of the noise, the world, the outside, or even the chatter in your own head, Quiet Scores is a way for you to listen without interference. Whether you are a devoted listener, a curious one, or simply looking for an hour of quiet, you are welcome. This is a room for music, and for leaving performance behind.
